Operational Accountant

Sharlene Monk

Sharlene is passionate about working in the healthcare field and highly motivated to support the Harrison team as they deliver the best health outcomes possible. She believes that excellent customer service and compassion are vital in all aspects of business, including finance, and works hard to deliver positive experiences at each interaction through her role in the finance department.

Sharlene trained as a Legal Assistant and then found her passion as a Medical Office Assistant in 2004 and has been working in healthcare ever since. Her healthcare experience includes managing the operations of walk-in clinics, private healthcare centers, as well as long-term care facilities – a time she truly cherishes.

Sharlene enjoys getting to know each client on a one-to-one basis, streamlining and simplifying the payment process to ensure excellent customer service. She is dedicated to quickly and thoughtfully answering any questions they may have. Healthcare can be complex, and if clients are stressed or anxious, Sharlene is eager to ensure that finance is providing them peace of mind so they can focus on what is most important, their health. She is a big advocate for Harrison’s values, dedicated to the team, and excited to bring the vision to life each day.

Along with her husband Ron, and American Bulldog Oscar, Sharlene loves to travel and explore. She calls British Columbia home and when away from financial spreadsheets, stays active and outdoors wherever she is in the world.
