Exercise Physiologist

Sam Higham

Sam encourages her clients to remember that any movement is better than none and is dedicated to helping them find joy in physical activity to enhance their daily lives. She’s passionate about helping clients discover new activities they can enthusiastically and effectively integrate into their routines. Sam believes that when exercise becomes a source of pleasure rather than obligation, lasting lifestyle changes naturally follow. Her approach focuses on individualized programming and holistic wellness. She collaborates with clients to address all aspects of their health journey, from managing chronic conditions to achieving personal fitness goals. Sam is highly adaptive and attentive to her clients’ needs and preferences, allowing her to create tailored strategies that foster sustainable habits.

Sam earned her Bachelor of Kinesiology from the University of Manitoba in 2014. In 2018, she obtained certifications as a Clinical Exercise Physiologist and High Performance Specialist through the Canadian Society for Exercise Physiology (CSEP), equipping her with expertise in both clinical and performance settings. Her professional experience includes working at a medical fitness facility, where she developed programs for chronic disease management, including Exercise is Medicine and Cardiac Rehab initiatives. She also worked with the general population, providing personalized exercise plans for diverse needs and goals. Additionally, Sam served as the Aquatics Manager in High River, focusing on team building, community engagement, and collaborative recreational programming.

Outside the clinic, Sam embraces an active lifestyle and enjoying the outdoors with her dog Nala. She can also be found playing recreational sports, skiing, camping, travelling, and coaching gymnastics, living proof that movement and joy go hand in hand.
