Ruth Howie

Ruth places her clients at the center of their healthcare experience, supporting their health and longevity with compassion and care. Her holistic approach to nursing emphasizes disease prevention and management while fostering trusting relationships with clients. Ruth values collaboration with physicians and allied health professionals to optimize health outcomes and address social determinants that may impact a client’s well-being. Aligned with Harrison’s values of compassion, innovation, and excellence, Ruth brings a wealth of critical care experience to her role in primary care. She excels in delivering education on lifestyle and disease management, particularly in cardiac, respiratory, and endocrine disorders. Meeting clients where they are, her empathetic approach ensures that each individual receives the support they need in a way that works best for them.

Ruth earned her Bachelor of Science in Adult Nursing from the University of Dundee, Scotland, in 2020. She is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Nursing from the same institution, with a focus on acute and critical care, advanced clinical assessment, and decision-making. Her professional journey includes extensive experience in the National Health Service (NHS) in Scotland, where she worked in critical care, specifically in medical high-dependency and coronary care units. She is well-versed in evidence-based practices and excels at working quickly and accurately under pressure. Ruth has also broadened her expertise by working as a Wellness Nurse in a medical aesthetics clinic.

Outside of work, Ruth is an avid sports enthusiast who enjoys competing in triathlons. She can regularly be found in the mountains, hiking, mountain biking, or snowboarding.
