Kristyn believes that food is one of the most powerful—yet often underused—therapies for achieving health and vitality. She views nutrition not as a set of rules or restrictions but as an opportunity to provide the body with the nutrients and “superpowers” it needs to thrive. She helps clients move beyond diets to discover a way of eating that feels nourishing, sustainable, and freeing. With compassion and creativity, Kristyn’s weight-neutral approach empowers people to break free from their struggles with food and regain health and joy in their everyday lives.
Kristyn earned her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of Calgary and a Master of Science in Nutrition from the University of Saskatchewan. She holds several complementary certifications, including a Lifestyle Medicine Coaching Certificate from the American College of Lifestyle Medicine, and she is a National Board Certified Health and Wellness Coach. She also holds a Culinary Arts Certificate with a focus on plant-based cooking and a Mindfulness and Mindful Eating Certificate from The Center for Mindful Eating in California. Kristyn has been recognized as one of Calgary’s Top 10 Dietitians and was honored as a Centennial Alumni of Influence by the University of Saskatchewan’s College of Pharmacy and Nutrition.
Her career spans private practice and public health, including work with Alberta Health Services. She has held various roles, such as serving as a Practice-based Evidence in Nutrition (PEN) analyst and manager, facilitating cooking classes for overall wellness as well as cancer prevention and treatment, and serving on the Diabetes, Obesity, and Cardiovascular Network Executive as well as the Board of Directors for Dietitians of Canada. Kristyn specializes in midlife health, metabolic health, longevity, and mental well-being, including conditions such as depression, anxiety, ADHD, and disordered eating. She believes that as our lives evolve, so too should our nutrition. She is passionate about educating her clients on how food supports our cells, shapes our moods, influences our energy, and much more.
Kristyn “lives it to lead it,” fueling her active lifestyle with nourishing foods while always leaving room for enjoyment. A recreational athlete, she enjoys skiing, skating, strength training, and has completed several running races, triathlons, and cycling events, including the Tour de Alberta. She’s also a proud hockey mom and an enthusiastic Calgary Flames fan, sharing her love of sports and activity with her two energetic sons.
