Diagnostic & Screening Coordinator

Kirsten Watkinson

Kirsten loves Harrison’s personalized approach to healthcare. She values the opportunity to take greater care of the patient as a whole and provide them with the support she can throughout multiple visits.

Kirsten qualified as a Medical Laboratory Assistant in 2010 at SAIT in Calgary. She is certified with CSMLS (Canadian Society for Medical Laboratory Science) and RESPTREC (Spirometry). She also completed her Occupational Health and Safety Audiometric Technician certification from Macewan University in 2017. Additionally, she earned a Leadership Development Certificate through Mount Royal University in 2020.

Kirsten has experience in the public system, with Clinical Lab Services in Alberta and in research with the Prostate Cancer Centre. Since 2012 however, she has worked at a lab in private primary care and likes the diversity of skills she can use in this setting.

Kirsten appreciates the positive work atmosphere at Harrison with like-minded people. It has motivated her to be more involved in clinic operations. In her free time, she is working towards her Occupational Health and Safety (OH & S) diploma. She is using education and experience to great benefit already, as she is supporting her Harrison colleagues with the latest OH & S processes and protocols for smooth daily (and emergency) operations.
