Exercise Physiologist

Eva Fleming

Eva is passionate about empowering clients to feel confident, supported, and informed throughout their health and fitness journey. She believes exercise is a powerful tool for transformation—one that should be accessible, evidence-based, and tailored to each individual’s unique needs. Eva’s approach is both practical and compassionate, combining rigorous scientific assessment with clear communication to help clients understand their bodies and optimize their performance. She is committed to collaborating with her colleagues and reviewing data from multiple sources to deliver personalized guidance in a safe and meaningful way.

Eva earned a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from the University of Alberta and is currently pursuing a Master of Science at the University of British Columbia, where her research focuses on sex differences in exercise physiology. She is a certified Clinical Exercise Physiologist (CSEP-CEP) with specialized training in cardiopulmonary exercise testing, including VO₂ Max assessment, lactate threshold analysis, and metabolic evaluation. At UBC, Eva serves as both a graduate researcher and a sessional lecturer, roles that have honed her ability to distill intricate ideas into understandable components and translate complex physiological concepts into actionable insights. Her clinical work spans diverse populations, from professional athletes to individuals managing chronic conditions. She conducts comprehensive cardiopulmonary exercise testing to evaluate functional capacity and guide evidence-based conditioning programs, producing clear reports that inform training and rehabilitation strategies with precision and care.

Outside the clinic, Eva enjoys backpacking, trail running, and strength training. She is also a dedicated advocate for women in science and health, championing equity and representation in her field.
