Emma is a board-certified genetic counsellor who aims to make complex genetic information accessible and meaningful for both clients and healthcare providers. She adopts a warm, personalized approach, building strong relationships with individuals and their families to ensure they feel comfortable and well-informed throughout the genetic testing process. She finds deep fulfillment in witnessing the positive impact genetic counselling can have, whether it’s aiding someone in taking proactive steps for their health or offering support during uncertain times.
Originally from Edmonton, Alberta, Emma earned her Bachelor of Science in Molecular Genetics and then pursued a Master of Science in Genetic Counselling at the University of British Columbia. Her clinical experience includes prenatal genetics, hereditary cancer syndromes, and inherited metabolic disorders. With a keen interest in clinical ethics, variant interpretation, and the evolving role of genomics in healthcare, she constantly seeks opportunities to learn, educate, and advocate for the responsible and effective use of genetic testing. In both her professional and personal life, Emma values curiosity and the creation of meaningful connections.
Outside of work, she enjoys mountain adventures, trying new restaurants or recipes in the kitchen, and caring for her growing collection of plants.
