In 2011, Emilea earned a Bachelor of Arts in International Development (Honours) from the University of Guelph, which shaped her holistic perspective on health and wellness. Her diverse professional background includes experience in mental health program design and work with remote Indigenous communities in Northern Ontario. As a Program Development Coordinator, she led a transformative initiative to optimize workflows across five fly-in Indigenous community programs, improving the delivery of culturally appropriate mental health services. She also managed youth wellness programs with Right to Play International, overseeing program delivery, staff, budgets, and stakeholder relationships across Ontario, New Brunswick, and Labrador. Additionally, Emilea has expertise in designing and facilitating programs for high-risk youth and she excels in problem-solving while fostering meaningful connections across diverse stakeholder groups.
Outside of work, Emilea leads an active lifestyle. She dances with Momentum Dance Toronto, teaches yoga and meditation at Altea Active, is a stepmother to a young hockey enthusiast, and enjoys family adventures whenever possible.
