Dr. Sarah Dosanjh is passionate about family practice and values preventive and evidence-based medicine. She believes in the team-based approach at Harrison Healthcare and enjoys collaborating with multidisciplinary health care professionals to optimize health outcomes. Dr. Dosanjh enjoys seeing entire families, from newborn to senior, which brings diverse opportunities to care for different generations. She has a particular interest in heart disease prevention and treatment.
Dr. Dosanjh attended the University of British Columbia for the entirety of her education, including a Bachelor of Science in Cell Biology and Genetics, followed by a Medical Degree, and then her family practice residency in the competitive St. Paul’s Hospital program, completed in 2015. During her medical training, she was recognized and awarded by the BC College of Family Physicians for her research on the need to increase nutrition education for family practice residents.
Dr. Dosanjh is a clinical instructor for the UBC Department of Family Practice and actively involved in medical student training. She serves on a UBC committee for continuing medical education for family physicians where she organizes and facilitates annual medical conferences.
Dr. Dosanjh is also a published children’s author. She was inspired to write her first story during the height of the covid pandemic, titled “What Should We Do Today?” and is currently working on her second book. As a mother and busy working professional, she understands and appreciates patients’ time. She works efficiently with her patients to understand their healthcare goals while providing education to optimize their mental and physical health.
Outside of clinical work, Dr. Dosanjh enjoys traveling, workout classes, reading, and refining her cooking skills. Most of all, she enjoys making memories with her two young children and husband.
