Dr. Russell Tull’s practice is grounded in prevention, partnership, and empowering clients to take charge of their wellness. He is drawn to a proactive and team-based care model, integrating his passions for movement science, technology, and holistic health into personalized, evidence-based care. Witnessing clients make lifestyle changes that transform their mental and physical well-being brings him deep satisfaction, and Dr. Tull is committed to supporting each individual’s unique health journey through collaborative care.
Dr. Tull earned a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from Simon Fraser University and a Doctor of Medicine from the University of British Columbia. He completed his Family Medicine residency in 2006 at the University of Alberta and began his diverse career in Edmonton. With over a decade of experience in solo and group family practice settings, his clinical work has also included roles as a hospitalist, urgent care physician, and civilian physician with the Canadian Forces. In 2010, he moved to Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, where he appreciated working with multidisciplinary teams in a collaborative group practice setting.
Dr. Tull takes pride in his client-first approach, building strong, lasting relationships with patients and their families. He is dedicated to helping them navigate complex health concerns with continuity of care and a personalized touch. He also has special interests in sports medicine, health informatics, and innovation. His expertise, kinesiology background, and IT skills enable him to incorporate movement therapy and wearable health data into his care, blending traditional and modern approaches to optimize patient outcomes. Dr. Tull has supported the implementation of a new Electronic Medical Record system and has held leadership roles, including Department Head of Family Medicine, Medical Staff President, and Director on multiple Boards.
Outside the clinic, Dr. Tull is an avid mountain biker who enjoys exploring North Shore trails, competing in stage races, and hiking Vancouver’s Coastal Mountains with his wife.
