Dr. Elisa Assadi is passionate about preventive medicine and Harrison’s team-based approach to healthcare. She maintains a broad scope of practice with interests in women’s health, care of the elderly and young families; and complements her family medicine practice with work at Lion’s Gate Hospital in North Vancouver. She emphasizes the importance of health education to support the empowerment of her patients and to optimize their health outcomes.
Dr. Assadi is experienced in acute and urgent care and has worked in emergency departments across rural BC communities. As a hospitalist she manages a wide range of medical conditions from acute care to palliation, and primarily works with a geriatric population. Dr. Assadi is certified in Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support, Advanced Trauma Life Support and Point of Care Ultrasound.
Dr. Assadi obtained her Bachelor of Science, in Behavioural Neuroscience, as well as a Medical Degree from the University of British Columbia. She then completed her family medicine residency program in Victoria, BC. Dr. Assadi assumed various leadership roles during her training. She was the president of the Medical Undergraduate Society and was selected as the Chief Resident during her residency. She received numerous accolades including the Doctors of B.C. Change-Maker Award and the College of Family Physicians award for her commitment to family medicine.
Outside of medicine, Dr. Assadi enjoys hiking, travelling, and discovering unique restaurants. She studies winemaking and viticulture and completed the Wine & Spirit Education Trust (WSET) Level 3 program. Nothing compares to her favourite activity, spending quality time with her dog, Luna.
