Dr. David Sessford provides compassionate, collaborative, client-centred care with a focus on improving the overall experience. He recognizes that every individual has unique values and goals, tailoring his approach to explore root causes and help clients better understand their conditions, not just their treatments. Valuing face-to-face interactions, he takes the time to build strong relationships with his clients. Known for his tenacity and dedication, Dr. Sessford takes pride in journeying alongside his clients as they achieve their health milestones.
After earning his BSc in Neuroscience from the University of Lethbridge in 2010, Dr. Sessford completed his MSc in Kinesiology in 2012 at the same institution. His research focused on preventing falls in aging populations and understanding memory processes in the brain. In 2017, he graduated with his medical degree from the University of Calgary. Dr. Sessford has worked extensively in rural medicine, gaining valuable experience in emergency care, acute care, long-term care, and family practice. His areas of expertise include performing minor procedures, chronic disease management, helping clients age gracefully, and palliative care. Passionate about leveraging innovation, he is particularly interested in exploring technologies to improve health outcomes. Dr. Sessford has served as a Section Chief and currently enjoys mentoring medical students. In 2024, he was nominated for the Alberta Medical Association’s Shine a Light award.
Outside of his professional life, Dr. Sessford is a proud father who enjoys travelling and indulging in his hobby as a mechanic, restoring old vehicles. A self-proclaimed jack-of-all-trades, he also dabbles in carpentry and other DIY projects.
