In addition to lab testing, Harrison offers advanced tools to provide deeper insights into your health and physiology:
- Point-of-Care Ultrasound
This non-invasive technology offers quick insights into organ and tissue health during routine care. More comprehensive, radiologist-supervised ultrasounds are available when needed. Available at our BC and Alberta Centres. - SECA Scan
Using bioelectrical impedance, SECA measures body composition, including fat, muscle, and water levels, with a safe, low-level electrical current. - Dual-Energy X-ray Absorptiometry (DEXA) Scan
The gold standard for body composition analysis, DEXA provides precise data on fat mass, lean mass, bone density, and resting metabolic rate. Available onsite at our Ontario Centre. - Balance and Movement Assessments
- Conducted using the Balance Tracking System (BTS) to evaluate stability, coordination, and fall risk.
- Functional Movement System (FMS) assesses movement patterns to identify imbalances, weaknesses, or mobility limitations that could lead to injury or impact overall physical performance.
- Advanced Muscular Assessment Technology (VALD)
Used by elite athletes, VALD technology measures key physical performance metrics in just minutes. Real-time feedback helps our Exercise Physiology team design personalized care plans, with tests for:- Strength
- Power
- Speed
- Balance
- Range of motion
- Movement quality
- Rate of force development
- VO2 Max Testing
This specialized test measures your body’s maximum oxygen uptake during exercise, offering insights into cardiovascular fitness and performance potential. It also helps tailor exercise heart rate zones to meet your fitness goals. - Aerobic Exercise Testing
This test can assess aerobic fitness and how your heart performs at high intensity, typically done on a treadmill or stationary bike. - Precision Skin Surveillance
Digital skin mapping offers a safe, non-invasive way to monitor and detect skin cancer. Using advanced AI technology, this system documents and tracks moles or anomalies on the skin, helping providers identify changes over time for early intervention. This is currently available in our Vancouver Centres.
