MRI, CT &
Diagnostic Imaging

As a Harrison Premier client, if you require an MRI, a CT scan or other diagnostic imaging services, we can help expedite the process.

Every Premier client receives rapid access and discounted rates to private MRI and CT imaging if required. Regardless of the circumstances, your Harrison team will go to extensive efforts to locate the fastest possible option, private or public, and coordinate all necessary activity.

Ultrasound Screening

Ultrasound is an imaging test that uses sound waves to create a picture of organs, tissues, and other structures inside the body. It can also show parts of the body in motion, such as a beating heart or blood flowing through vessels. Ultrasound can detect numerous abnormalities which may be indicative of disease. Unlike x-rays, an ultrasound does not require any radiation and is considered a safe, non-invasive test.

Harrison currently uses “point of care” ultrasound technology during routine care at our Alberta and BC centres, however as part of your personalized health assessment, a more comprehensive and radiologist-supervised screening ultrasound examination may be recommended.

Dual Energy X-ray Absorptiometry (DEXA) Scan

As part of your assessment at Harrison, your physician may recommend a DEXA scan. This high-precision, low-dose X-ray provides a convenient and non-invasive evaluation of body composition, including body fat percentage, fat mass, and lean mass. It is considered the “gold standard” for assessing body composition.

DEXA provides detailed insight into body composition, helping identify factors such as excess visceral fat or low muscle mass that can impact metabolic health, performance, and long-term risk. It also establishes a precise baseline, allowing for meaningful tracking over time. These insights support more targeted strategies to optimize your health and performance.

A DEXA scan, when indicated, is coordinated for you as a client of the Premier program or with your Comprehensive Health Assessment. It is available onsite at our Toronto location.

Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI)

Harrison has partnered with leading providers of full-body and focused MRI screening exams for the early detection of cancer and over 350 other medical conditions. Harrison recommends you consult with your clinical team about the benefits of these exams in the context of your personalized care plan and health risk profile. Harrison provides coordination services with our partner providers and ensures these exams are included in your early detection and health surveillance plan when appropriate.
