Experience you Bring & Qualifications

  • Completion of a Certified Exercise Physiologist designation through CSEP or ACSM is encouraged as part of the role, and Harrison will provide support for professional development to achieve this goal.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology, Exercise Physiology, or equivalent, with at minimum a CPT designation from CSEP or ACSM.
  • Experience with graded exercise tolerance testing (stress test with an ECG), VO2 Max testing, and/or Cardiopulmonary Exercise Testing (CPET).
  • Minimum of two years clinical experience in primary health care, including patient assessment in acute, community, or outpatient settings, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Genuine passion for physical activity and movement, viewing exercise as a form of medicine.
  • Independent, proactive, and self-motivated, taking initiative to continuously develop skills and pursue professional growth opportunities.

• Design and deliver personalized exercise programs in accordance with CSEP and ACSM clinical guidelines. • Conduct standardized assessments and tests, including: Cardiopulmonary exercise testing (CPET), VO₂max testing using a metabolic cart, graded exercise tolerance testing, body composition analysis, functional movement screens (FMS), balance testing (e.g., modified CTSIB protocol), strength assessments (e.g., grip strength, dead hang, plank test), senior fitness testing, and biomechanical and gait assessments, including ergonomic recommendations for assistive devices • Engage clients in education and discussions on topics such as fall and injury prevention, sleep hygiene, and stress management. • Accurately document client interactions and progress in a timely manner. • Compile comprehensive health status reports incorporating assessment and test results. • Collaborate proactively with interdisciplinary team members to support individualized health and wellness plans.

Salary: $35.00 – $40.00
