Jenna passionately advocates for informed decision-making to transform her clients’ lives. With a compassionate approach, she helps clients navigate the complex world of genetics, empowering them to make choices that align with their values and goals. She thrives on a collaborative, whole-person approach to health, working closely with clients and colleagues to proactively identify and address health concerns. Jenna ensures that each individual receives comprehensive care tailored to their unique needs. An excellent collaborator, her dedication to improving access to genetic and genomic clinical care makes her an invaluable asset to the team.
Jenna holds her Genetic Counselling certification from the American Board of Genetic Counseling. She began her healthcare journey with a BSc(hons) in Life Sciences from Queen’s University and quickly pivoted to earn her Master of Science in Human Genetics from Sarah Lawrence College. In 2009, she completed a graduate certificate in Health Systems Leadership from Royal Roads University. Jenna has worked across various settings, including the BC Cancer’s Hereditary Cancer Program and at the Children’s & Women’s Health Centre of B.C. She currently serves as a Clinical Associate Professor and Co-Director of the UBC Master’s Program in Genetic Counselling, where she ensures graduates are prepared for the full scope of genetic counselling practice. Jenna’s areas of expertise span prenatal, pediatric, and adult-onset conditions. She is also a consultant for Genome GC and a Health Professions Education Advisor, further demonstrating her commitment to advancing the field of genetic counselling.
Outside of genetics, Jenna is a certified Bikram Yoga teacher and enjoys paddleboarding with her beloved pup along Vancouver’s waterfront.
