As part of your personalized, comprehensive health assessment, your physician may recommend a screening ultrasound examination.
Ultrasound is an imaging test that uses sound waves to create a picture of organs, tissues, and other structures inside the body. It can also show parts of the body in motion, such as a beating heart of blood flowing through vessels. A screening ultrasound can detect numerous abnormalities which may be indicative of disease. Unlike x-rays, an ultrasound does not require any radiation and is considered a safe, non-invasive test.
An abdominal screening ultrasound, when indicated, is provided in-house at Harrison at no cost to a client as part of its Comprehensive Health Assessment.
