Compassion draws Kara to Harrison Healthcare. The philosophy of leaning into kindness, attentiveness, and warmth gives her a heightened sense of purpose and she is genuinely motivated to help others however she can. She enjoys interacting with clients every day, getting to know them, and finding new ways to support them in their healthcare journey.
After owning a health and fitness studio for 14 years, Kara was eager to stay in the industry which she cared deeply about, but was looking for a change. She completed her dual certification of Medical Office Assistant and Unit Clerk at ABES college in 2015. She initially worked in a cardiac rehabilitation clinic before moving to primary care in 2020.
Kara loves learning and has taken many courses over the years ranging from business and accounting, to fitness and nutrition, to special interest courses in photography and Canadian history (Indigenous Canada, Mountains 101) – so call her up next time you’re playing Trivial Pursuit. When she’s not in her garden, Kara loves to spend time with friends and family in, on, or near the water, camping, playing cards and road-tripping with her dog Bella navigating.
