Registered Dietitian

Gelina Berg

A passionate dietitian, Gelina empowers clients to make sustainable lifestyle changes. She understands the benefit of an informed, multidimensional approach to health. Appreciating that stress, sleep, biological, and psychological factors can all impact the creation of a healthier lifestyle, Gelina embraces the collaborative approach that Harrison embodies so she can help clients create better health outcomes and improve their relationship with food. She works in partnership with her clients to take practical, personalized, and manageable steps towards better health.

Gelina graduated in 2005 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Dietetics from the University of British Columbia, complemented by additional training at the University of Wollongong in Australia in 2002. She completed her practical training at Providence Healthcare and St. Paul’s Hospital in Vancouver. For two years, she cared for residents in long term care facilities before shifting her practice to a multidisciplinary healthcare team in 2008. She also has additional experience working on the development of the MyHealthyGut app, a tool that motivates and guides patients to make food choices that will benefit their digestion and energy levels.

Gelina’s interests lie in overall wellness and disease prevention, digestive and gastrointestinal health, inflammatory and autoimmune conditions, food intolerances, and chronic disease management. She has complementary expertise in understanding and treating IBS (irritable bowel syndrome), following her Monash FODMAP training.

Gelina believes that providing clients with information on how their stress, sleep, hormones, gut health, nutrition, and other factors impact their choices and health outcomes can be empowering and motivate change. She thrives on seeing her clients’ health improve, their energy increase, and their focus sharpen by embracing adjustments to how they fuel themselves.

When at play, Gelina enjoys spending time outdoors with her family and exploring nature in the Kootenays, where she calls home. She loves taking on creative projects, like gluing and glittering with her children or giving new life to an old piece of furniture. Her all-time favourite way to relax is curled up with a cup of tea and a good book in the sunshine.
