Dakota excels in working collaboratively to optimize her clients’ health and wellness, with a strong emphasis on compassion and empathy. She believes in the power of a team approach to healthcare, where kindness and understanding are at the forefront of every client interaction. Dakota treats the whole person, not just their symptoms. She takes pride in getting to know her clients deeply, celebrating their successful outcomes, and enhancing their health education through evidence-based practices.
In 2018, Dakota earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Calgary at Medicine Hat College. Her healthcare journey however began in 2008 when she obtained her Primary Care Paramedic certification from the Saskatchewan Institute of Applied Science and Technology. She then spent a decade in Emergency Medical Services across rural and urban Saskatchewan and Alberta. Her diverse nursing experience includes acute care, long-term care, labor and delivery, and emergency medicine. Dakota has honed her skills in the fast-paced, high-acuity environment of the Emergency Room at South Health Campus in Calgary. This dynamic setting has allowed her to provide care across the lifespan, managing a wide range of health complexities and illnesses. Dakota’s expertise includes critical thinking in high-stress situations and collaborative healthcare delivery.
In her free time, Dakota enjoys quality moments with her husband, young daughter and their dog Axel, exploring new restaurants for the best calamari, and quadding on her family farm in Southern Saskatchewan. She also finds joy in baking cupcakes, socializing over a cup of coffee, and reading true crime.
