Registered Nurse

Azitta Javahery

Azitta transitioned to family medicine in 2019 from cardiology and cardiac surgery with the intention to focus on disease prevention. She believes that prevention begins with compassion and is motivated to see and hear where individuals are starting from and get to know their specific health goals so she can support them on their journey. While she likes working with any patient, she is passionate when working with the elderly who have so much life experience to share, and can teach her as much as the other way around throughout their interactions.

Azitta obtained a Bachelor of Arts in psychology at UBC prior to completing a Bachelor of Science in Nursing at Douglas College.  Her focus and interest has been in cardiovascular chronic disease management nursing and complex wound care. She is always impressed with how motivated her patients are to follow their care plans, and how they can remain optimistic through challenging times.

Relationship building is foundational for Azitta, she loves getting to know clients, see them come back and notice their health improve. Discharging patients home with a new lease on life has kept Azitta in nursing, and at Harrison it’s just as special seeing clients achieve their goals and move on to the next.

Outside work, Azitta enjoys spending time with her beloved rescue dog who continues to teach her compassion and love.  She is a strong supporter of animal rescue programs and encourages anyone who can provide a loving home to adopt!
